Star Trek (2009)

Industrial Light & Magic


Software Used: Proprietary, RenderMan


Responsible for:

Lighting and rendering CG elements (drill, parachutes, characters, planet Vulcan, and Spock’s spaceship) to match plates that were provided and followed art direction when working with space shots.  Worked closely with compositors to deliver high quality shots- providing aov, depth, xyz, and matte passes, and etc. to complete the shot.

Iron Man

Software Used: Maya, MentalRay


Responsible for:

Lighting and rendering of CG Iron Man to match the plate lighting.  Leading a group of lighters- updating them with any changes to direction, shaders, and rendering.  Worked closely with a team of animators, riggers, TDs and compositors for each shot.

The Orphanage

Software Used: Maya, MentalRay

Responsible for:

Lighting and rendering of a CG F35 jet and a CG concrete highway to match the plate lighting.  Textured the broken highway pieces and worked closely with the compositor.  Delivered any elements they needed to complete the composite (aov, depth, xyz, and matte passes).

Software Used: Maya, MentalRay, Nuke


Responsible for:

Lighting and rendering of background and characters.  Set up character light rigs for the team assigned for the sequence.  Composited own shots using Nuke.

Responsible for:

Texturing and look-development for the Lion.  Also, set up a look development light rig to approximate the final look of the lion in the film.

Responsible for:

Key Lighting for characters, Massive crowd sims, and backgrounds.  In charge of a group of lighters working on a sequence, and set up render layers for the team using MELscript.  Composited own shots using Digital Fusion.
